Today, in the global book market, you can find many books on gluten allergy, sensitivity and intolerance or celiac disease. But, to our knowledge, so far, no one in Albania has written or translated any book on this subject.
Some of the books are based on scientific studies and others on personal experiences, offering practical advice for having an easier and healthier life without gluten. Meanwhile, there are also books that many authors consider a “temporary fashion” or simply a “fad” of VIPs, on which an industry has been built, which has extraordinary profits.
In fact, if we refer to the latest data, where the global market for gluten-free products was estimated at 4.35 billion dollars in 2018, and in 2026 it is expected to reach 7.91 billion dollars, we may even have doubts that the gluten-free diet has really become fashionable. But if you ask people affected by celiac disease, gastroenterologists, etc., you will understand that a gluten-free diet is ESSENTIAL. It is precisely this skepticism or this ignorance that has prompted famous people to write books, open restaurants, blogs, make films and documentaries, with the aim of raising awareness about this often underestimated issue.
What books have you read? Have you ever thought about writing a book about gluten-free living? Which book about gluten would you like to see translated?
